A former professional and international dancer with more than 15 years of experience, Javier discovered Pilates in 1994.
\nAfter two years of practice he decided to train in New York as a teacher of the method with the legendary Romana Kryzanowska and her daughter, Sari Mejia Santo. After his training he stayed two more years with Romana and Sari, his teachers, to further perfect his knowledge. At the end of 1999 P\u00e9rez Pont returned to Spain with Esperanza Aparicio, also a dancer and trained in the method with Romana and Sari. Together they opened the first Pilates Studio in Barcelona, endorsed by Kryzanowska. In 2002 they started the Certification Programme for Teachers under the guidance of their two teachers mentioned above. During all these years Javier has spread the Pilates method through conventions in Spain and other countries and in different media such as television and radio. In addition, together with Esperanza Aparicio, he is the author of several publications such as: \u201cEl Aut\u00e9ntico M\u00e9todo Pilates. El Arte del Control\u201d (2005. Mart\u00ednez Roca. Planeta), \u201cContrology Pilates Physical Culture\u201d (2013. HakaBooks) and \u201cHubertus Joseph Pilates. The Biography\u201d. (2013. HakaBooks). All of them have been translated into several languages and have become essential reading. Nowadays P\u00e9rez Pont, who has reached Level X, the highest level within the organisation, continues his work spreading Contrology and continues to collaborate with Romana's Pilates in the international training of teachers.
